Fire River Gold Appoints C. Douglas Lang To The Board Of Directors

April 4, 2011. Vancouver, Canada -- Fire River Gold Corp. (TSX.V: FAU; OTCQX: FVGCF; FSE: FWR) (the "Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. C. Douglas Lang to the Board of Directors.

On behalf of the Board of Directors of Fire River Gold, Richard Goodwin -- President of the company would like to welcome Mr. Douglas Lang to our board. The members of the Board of Directors are looking forward to working closely with Mr. Lang to further develop our corporate objectives.

Mr. Lang is a Certified General Accountant who obtained his professional designation while employed with the City of Campbell River. His position with the City was that of Chief Financial Officer (1991 to 2005) and he regularly managed complex annual budgets in excess of $60 million. Under Mr. Lang's stewardship the city twice received the Canadian Award for Financial Reporting.

Mr. Lang presently serves as a director and is the past board chair (2005/06) of Coastal Community Credit Union. He is also member of their Audit and Risk Committee and is presently the chair of the Conduct Review & Corporate Governance Committee. The Credit Union has assets of $1.6 billion dollars and employs over 600 people.

He is currently working as an independent consultant for local governments in British Columbia and has done some consulting work for the junior mining industry.

Mr. Lang brings to the board an extensive and varied financial background.

Fire River Gold Corp. is a near term production company with an experienced technical team focused on bringing its flagship project, the Nixon Fork Gold Mine, back into production in 2011. The Nixon Fork Gold Mine is a permitted and bonded mine which include a ~200 tpd processing plant with a gravity gold circuit, sulphide flotation circuit and a gold recovery system (CIL circuit) that is scheduled to be completed by Summer 2011. The mine also includes a fleet of surface & underground mining vehicles, a self-contained power plant, maintenance facilities, drilling equipment, an 85 person camp, office facilities and a 1.2 km long landing strip.

A 28,000 metre exploration and ore definition drill program is in progress to expand the current resources and support the detailed mine plan.
